Nancy has had over 20 years of coaching experience at the high performance and national levels in Canada. Not only is she the coach of Club Aviva's GYMSTART program, she was the lead role in it's development. She has received the 3M National coach of the year and national stream coach of the year awards, both of which are of Canada level recognition. She has also won BC's HP Coach recognition Award every year from 1993 to 2001. Nancy has coached athletes whom have taken numerous medals such a gold medal at the 1997 Junior Pacific Alliance, two bronze medals at the 1998 Commonwealth Games as well as two gold medals in the 1999 Senior Pan American Games . She also coached a member of the 2000 Sydney Olympic games and was the national coach of the Junior Pan American Games, and the 1999 World Championships National Team coach.
Cathy Chapell Cathy has had over 30 years of competitive coaching experience. She is a beam and dance specialist and also works on floor choreography and routines. Cathy attended the Sydney 2000 Olympics as a personal coach to an Olympic athlete and was named High Performance Coach of the year for 2000/2001. In addition to coaching gymnastics, Cathy is an active Doping Control Officer for the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport.
David Kenwright Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics (TG) Coaches Head Coach - Andrew van Buuren
Andrew is the Head Coach of our Trampoline Gymnastics program. Having grown up in a gym, Andrew is well rounded in coaching both our Artistic and Trampoline developmental programs. He helps Nancy with the GYMSTART program and spends countless hours coaching the next generation of competitive athletes in our recreational programs.
Marc Crippen
Marc is a World Championship tumbling coach and has coached one of Canada's top senior tumblers, Cletus Okpoh. Having being an athlete himself, Marc is able to understand coaching at a personal level and relate to what the athletes are going through. Marc also coaches provincial artistic gymnastics along-side Nancy. In addition to coaching Marc also looks after the equipment for most of the competitions held in the province. Kim moved to BC from Calgary two years ago where she also coached one of the top senior tumblers in Canada. She is currently on maternity leave with her new baby boy, Keaton. |
